History in Color—a weekly online course on topics in Black history.

Joins us every Thursday from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

  • LEARN

Every week we will explore a new topic under the very broad umbrella of Black history. Of course, there are an infinite number of Black histories for us to explore! This is because Black history is vast, diverse, ever-changing, and constantly being created! This is what we call living history. So, topic suggestions are always welcome. What are you interested in learning about? What did you start learning and want to know more about?

  • ENGAGE

Participants will listen to a short lecture before engaging in discussion or group work. Extroverts, introverts, and ambiverts are all welcome! There is no pressure to speak—but you should always be actively listening to your classmates.

Since every week is different, feel free to attend class whenever your schedule allows. Jump back in or catch up on last week’s class materials anytime!

  • SUPPORT

Pay what you can (when you can, if you can). You are NOT obligated to pay per class. However, if you can and are willing to donate any amount to a Black family in need:

Laura Eller is a tattoo artist at Raven and Rose Studios in Maryland. Laura is the primary provider for their two children, husband, and parents.
